Who Would You Give Your Last One To?
I was sat monitoring the radio net. I was feeling a little peckish. I reached into my pocket and pulled out something to snack on.A few years ago the army in its' infinite wisdom stopped putting packets of Rolos into ration packs.
There is now a generation of soldiers who are growing up without knowing the delights of pulling a half squashed packet of Rolos out of a pocket.
They'll never know the sheer pleasure of trying to pick pieces of gold foil from a rather battered specimen.
The taste sensation that follows when you give up and eat said Rolo with gold foil garnish still intact is lost to them.
They don't know what they are missing.
Back on the exercise I took one look at the battered Rolos and opted for a boilie instead.

There is a perverse sort of pleasure from sucking the innards of a rolo through it's foil wrapping and then spitting out the remainder.
Boilies must be worse for your teeth I would think. So US does that mean you have a spare rolo?????
Greavsie - yes but the pleasure wears off after a while :(
Homer - no just normal chocolate bars. By the way allegedly M & M's were developed for American soldiers during WWII so the chocolate wouldn't melt in their hands.
Pat - Yes I do but it's several years old.
Brown Eyes - there used to be cigarettes in the ration packs during WWII. I don't know when they stopped them.

haha, and I thought I was the only one who licked the gold foil clean. Nice to know all you big grown kiddies out there, but I ain't giving the last one away, no no.
Free Rolos? I thought the Army was supposed to be tough! Free Rolos isn't very "badass" is it?

ahhhhhhh, squished rolos found at the bottom of some unused handbag - i can eat rolos as the chocolate isn't too strong, but as homer says, when the foil touches my fillings it's simply dire.
A boilie just doesn't sound like something I'd want to put in my mouth.

GG - Quite right a persons last Rolo is very important.
Laura - no I suppose it isn't. Maybe they need to get Gordon Ramsay to do a Jamie Oliver style campaign on army food. Then we had have some mean motherf****n rations.
Zoe - Agreed totally the fillings thing is horrible.
seizethenite - boilies are fairly disgusting boiled sweets. Dissolve a packet in a bottle of cheap rum and it's a different story.
